Now What?

Maybe you just received the Lord into your life, or you rededicated your life to Christ.

You have just made the most important decision in your life!

Congratulations!!

You are on the road to a new beginning!

God has a wonderful plan for your life.

But with every journey, you need a road map or compass for the journey.

You might wonder, “Now what?”

As a teenager, I was taken to a church service and made the same decision you have just made. But no one explained, “Now what?”

And so it was, little by little, I fell back into the same lifestyle as before, eventually even getting worse, and worse.

Sin always takes you farther than you want to go!

And there is pleasure in sin for a season.

There are several things needed to continue on this NEW BEGINNING, and while this is not complete, it is simply a starting point … 

#1: Prayer

Maybe you don’t feel like you know how to pray, feel awkward, or clumsy. Prayer is simply talking to God in your own words, expressing how you feel, what you need, and thanking Him for what Jesus has done.

Jesus said in John 16:24 “Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.”

When we pray, we pray to the Father in the name of Jesus.

#2: Read Your Bible

If you don’t have a Bible, you should get one that is easy to read.

A few suggestions :

• New International Version, often referred to as the NIV
• New American Standard Bible or NASB
• New King James Version or NKJV

Your Bible is filled with wonderful promises from God to YOU!

As a new believer, we suggest starting with the book of John.

#3: Get Connected With a Church

You need to be surrounded by people who can encourage you and help you to continue to grow in the faith. You need to be in a church that teaches and practices what the Bible teaches.

The Apostle Paul said: Hebrews 10:25 “not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.”
